Relationships

Everything in our life revolves around relationships.

Children, partners, friends, bosses, co-workers, employees and many others. This is what makes up our day to day interactions with other people. What is a relationship anyway? Here are some answers to this question:

  1. a connection, association, or involvement.
  2. connection between persons by blood or marriage.
  3. an emotional or other connection between people: the relationship between teachers and students.
  4. a sexual involvement; affair.

So depending on which kind of relationship we’re talking about, it clearly has so many meanings. For now I am just going to focus on romantic relationships. Your husband, wife, lover, partner or significant other. That should cover it for now.

So ask yourself these questions…

Do you feel cherished?
Do you feel respected?
Do you feel special?
Do you feel your partner is attracted to you?
Are you happy in the relationship?

Are you lonely?
Are you sad or depressed much of the time?
Do you overeat or overspend?
Do you (or your partner) drink, eat or gamble too much?
Is your debt out of control?
Is there abuse (verbal, physical or emotional)??
Are you (or your partner) spending hours on the computer?
Do you feel shame or guilt?

If you answer “yes” to any of the first five questions, that’s wonderful! But if your answer is “yes” to any of the others then it’s time to take a good look at your relationship and find ways to make it better.

I have workshops for men and for women — I will soon be adding workshops for couples, too — who are ready to make a change in their lives.
